what a lack of bandwidth can do

Frustration ... take the camera outside  ... love that the bee is at it.
I was reminded that so much happens even when we are not watching

Nineteen years!

So, here we are! We are still smiling, so all in all I think that sums it up! Two sons still at home, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds and the fish. Older sons out on their own with their loves. Life is grand and I am so very thankful that our Father in heaven loves me so ... so much that He provided my salvation and the blessings here on earth. I am thankful for the parents that He provided that are no longer here and the extended family I married into, each and everyone a special blessing.

It's a beautiful way to start the fall season. Celebrating the love that endures with prayer.

What time does Elijah start to school?

Hours after Noah got off to school, Elijah woke to start his day. Look at the clock over his shoulder ... its 11:30 in the morning! Wow, when I attended high school I was up at the crack of dawn!

Horns & Wrinkles

Chapter One "Falling"

Chapter Two "One Horn"

What a visit from a friend can inspire!

My sweet friend Emily stopped by for a visit and to return a book that I had just about begged her to read.  Emily and I are both storytellers at our local elementary school and we both have a love for children's stories. I had purchased this book solely on the first few pages, I knew I had to read it.  I cannot begin to express the joy of reading a really good "romp"... I barely passed my creative writing class! All is can do is encourage you to read this book.

I asked Emily "SO, what do you think?" and her reply is that she had not read it, reading puts her to sleep. WHAT!!!  Oh, how I had looked forward to discussing this gem of a story! What to do ... I cannot let this story go unshared ... so ....

I've talked Fred into reading for us :) so Emily .... be prepared to spend 10 minutes at a time with Claire, Duke and a score of other very entertaining characters!

Summer 2010

Oh how thankful I am for the pool! Finally the answer to getting the boys "outta the house" ... maybe being out in the sun and in the water will encourage them to go to sleep earlier! I will be hopeful.

That time of year!

My girlfriend Katie (everyone else calls her Kathy ...) and her daughter Annie are down here visiting from Long Island. We have known each other over 20 years and I have to say how very blessed I am to have her. So very long ago she lived here ... Navy Days, HA! :)

Tickled that she works for the airline and can visit :)

Full Worm Moon

At the time of this spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins. This is also known as the Sap Moon, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins.

Some fun

I started playing around with the picassa program. Tagging! Last night the boys laughed and laughed at all the different groupings. I found that it has this handy option that will make collages. I tried to post this on facebook, but for what ever reason it just would not load up, so I thought I'd "blog it" and see what happens.

Nick ... our frequent "spending the night" guy!

end of the season

Today I started cleaning out the kitchen garden. I am thinking I might plant clover and use as green manure for next season. I had thought about putting in collards ... and still may do so, Marjory will eat them ;) maybe even some kale would be nice. I saved some of the morning glory seeds ... gosh they sure did cover the fence line. Also grabbed some of the garlic chive seeds, think that I will plant a fresh set next spring. The existing chives are hanging in there pretty well, but I am not sure they will make thru the winter as they are not in the pot any more. The strawberry plant ( the one and only in the earth box) has new growth on it. I need to read up on how to winter them over. It was a beautiful fall day. A inside out day.

Davenport Bayou in the afternoon on a cool fall day

Ducks ;)

We purchased a new camera ... and all I can say is YIPPPE!
So much better control and zooming in rocks!

Saturday afternoon

We got back this afternoon around 3ish from the drive over to Mobile. Had a lovely time visiting with Ernie. The OSV Bold is in for a few days and the boys were spending the day with friends ... so a road trip was called for. I'll be posting up more pictures in a bit. Just want to get these up as I thought it a gift for me :) I had been photograping all day and coming up on these guys was just so grand.
